Devastating Update on UPS Accident: Death Toll Climbs to 13

The tally of victims resulting from the transport jet that caught fire and crashed has reached 13, as confirmed by recent statements.

City Leader's Remarks

“On my way to the Teamsters’ vigil, I learned of a 13th person that passed away as a consequence of the aircraft incident,” expressed the city mayor in a public communication. “My prayers are with the families, companions and colleagues of all who were taken in this recent disaster. We will endure this as one.”

A release from the carrier named the officers operating the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 as Pilot Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and Relief Captain Dana Diamond.

“Our sympathies are extended to every employee who has been impacted and everyone in our local region – assisting you and ensuring you obtain the attention and assistance you need is our focus,” the organization’s message expressed.

Investigation Updates

National authorities revealed that the UPS cargo plane’s left wing burst into flames and an engine fell off shortly after liftoff from the airfield, causing the aircraft to crash and explode into a inferno.

Flight tracking records revealed the aircraft was on the ground in that location from early September to last week.

“We are knowledgeable that this aircraft was there in the facility,” stated an investigator on the following day, not giving a specific date range. “We will review all elements of repairs that was done, from the repair visit, all the way to the date of the trip.”

The pilot’s recorder and information unit were recovered, and the power plant was found on the runway.

The devices – known as flight recorders – were constructed to endure crash impacts and extreme temperatures from blazes, and they looked to be undamaged when found amid the crash debris. Investigators plan on analyzing data from the devices.

Aircraft’s last recorded information indicated an elevation of that level and a speed of that speed prior to the impact.

According to FAA files from 18 September, a fissure on a part in the center wing fuel tank needed repairs.

The company ST Engineering, which said it provides airframe maintenance for the carrier’s MD-11 and manages a service location in that city, declined to comment, but said it would work closely when relevant authorities approached it.

Worker representatives, which stands for employees, commenced the memorial with a quiet tribute at 5.14pm, the rough time of the accident two days earlier.
